DEMONSTRATION NOTICE: SPONTANEOUS DEMONSTRATION JUNE 14, 2010

The U.S. Embassy in Rome has been made aware of the possibility of a spontaneous labor demonstration in support of the upcoming general strike. The demonstration will start around 10 am this morning. Local police may close off some intersections as the marchers organize in Piazza della Repubblica and make their way to Piazza del Popolo. Some of the streets affected may be:

The intersection of Via di Veneto and Bissolati.

Upper Boncompagni

Expect increased police presence in the general area. The U.S. Embassy in Rome   recommends all U.S. citizens exercise caution when travelling in these areas.
